NYT: Trump’s Border Security Reforms Working

Apparently, refusing to roll out the red carpet for illegal immigrants is working to deter them. According to a report by the New York Times, one-third of the 6,000 migrants forming the November caravan of “asylum” seekers decided to go back to Central America. “Data from Mexican officials suggested that harsh policies he [Trump] has introduced to crack down on asylum seekers may already be achieving some of its intended effects,” reports the Times. In that same article, the typically anti-Trump paper also admits that aspiring illegal immigrants joining the caravan are not fleeing persecution or gang violence but seeking economic opportunities in the U.S., a distinction that disqualifies them from asylum. A New York Times‘ article on the migrant caravans shows President Donald Trump’s border security reforms are successfully curbing the northward flow of migrants.

One-third of the 6,000 migrants who reached the border just in the November caravan have given up their effort to cross the border, the Times says: “Data from Mexican officials suggested that harsh policies he has introduced to crack down on asylum seekers may already be achieving some of its intended effects.”

The article by the establishment outlet is important because it validates Trump’s analysis and proposed fixes for the growing problem of cheap-labor migration. For example, the article shows that Trump’s critics admit his policies are working: “It may look like it’s working in the short term,” Ms. [Michelle] Brané said, “But I don’t think it’s a long-term solution. It’s driving people further into the shadows and that’s exactly the opposite of what we [pro-migation groups] want.”

Bipartisan Standing Ovation on House Floor for Victims of Illegal Alien Crime

In one of the most optimistic signs for ending the border security stalemate between the White House and the Democrat-led House of Representatives, lawmakers on both sides of the aisle were moved to give victims of illegal alien crimes a standing ovation on the chamber floor. The symbolic gesture happened on Wednesday as House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy read out 50 names of Americans, many of them policemen, killed by illegal immigrants as evidence of why the “status quo” keeping open borders must end. Quoth McCarthy: There have been 266,000 criminal aliens arrested in the last two years. This includes charges or convictions of 100,000 assaults, nearly 30,000 sex crimes, and 4,000 violent killings. Three hundred Americans die every week from heroin. And more than 90 percent of heroin comes across the Southern border. And roughly 10,000 children are being smuggled into the U.S. every year to be sold for human trafficking. Read more…

The U.S. House of Representatives on Wednesday gave victims of illegal alien crimes a bipartisan standing ovation on the floor of the chamber as House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy read out the names of Americans killed by illegal aliens in a lengthy speech.

McCarthy began his speech bashing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s strategy on the government funding battle that has protected the “status quo” on immigration, a system that has led to serious consequences for American citizen victims of illegal immigration.

McCarthy said on the House floor:

At a time when the country expects its leaders in Washington to look forward, this House majority is looking backward. When our country expects solutions, they are using this chamber to settle political scores. As hundreds of thousands of Americans painfully experienced, portions of our federal government were shut down for 35 days. A shameful record under this majority’s watch.

Border Patrol Wives Invite Nancy Pelosi to Visit

The wives of the Rio Grande Valley Border Patrol sent House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) a personal Facebook invitation to visit them in Texas to see firsthand why a border wall is necessary. “[A wall] will allow them to do their job more efficiently and give them more time-if they are by themselves-have another agent meet them. It is definitely needed,” Border Patrol wife Renea Perez argued on “Fox & Friends.” The group also called out Pelosi on her political games with their husbands’ paychecks, blasting: “We’d also appreciate if you’d stop pretending that you care about federal workers. If you did, you would care for their safety, not just their paychecks. We can hold out a while longer if it means our husbands and communities are safer.” Read more…

A group of women whose husbands patrol America’s southern border along the banks of the Rio Grande are inviting House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to come to Texas so she can see first-hand why a barrier between the U.S. and Mexico is desperately needed.

“We would like to show you around! You don’t need to bring any security detail. Our husbands/boyfriends/fiances/wives/significant others are actually very good at their jobs, thank goodness!” Jill Demanski wrote in the letter posted on Facebook.

Demanski added: “We’d also appreciate if you’d stop pretending that you care about federal workers. If you did, you would care for their safety, not just their paychecks. We can hold out a while longer if it means our husbands and communities are safer.”
