Islamic State Fighter Confirms U.S. Open Borders Plot

The International Center for the Study of Violent Extremism (ICSVE) published a report last week detailing that America’s open southern border is being considered a port of entry into our homeland by Islamist terrorists. According to the report, an Islamic State (ISIS) terrorist captured in Syria claimed that ISIS was planning to sneak terrorists through our open borders to target financial targets and “cripple the U.S. economy.” The terrorist in question, Abu Henricki, had dual Canadian and Trinidadian citizenship and said that he was asked to join a unit of other Trinidadians sent into Mexico by way of Puerto Rico to meet up with an ISIS terrorist already in the United States. An Islamic State (ISIS) fighter allegedly captured in Syria claimed that ISIS had concocted a plan to sneak terrorists across the U.S.-Mexico border to attack financial targets and “cripple the U.S. economy,” according to a report published this week by the International Center for the Study of Violent Extremism (ICSVE).

The report is based on testimony from Abu Henricki, an ISIS terrorist with dual citizenship in Canada and Trinidad. Henricki said he traveled to the Islamic State’s “caliphate” in Syria to serve as a front-line fighter for the terror state, but his poor health kept him on the sidelines.

In late 2016, he claims the Islamic State’s intelligence service asked him to become part of a special unit of Trinidadians that would be sent into Mexico via Puerto Rico, cross the U.S. border, and carry out attacks on financial targets like Wall Street.

Border Agents Now Babysitters

The month of May overwhelmed U.S. Border Patrol with new records in illegal immigrant apprehensions, including more than 55,000 children along with another 75,000 adults, for a total of 130,000 encounters in just 31 days. “As much as 60 percent of agents’ time is now spent babysitting illegal immigrants rather than patrolling the border,” according to a Washington Times report. The already overcrowded facilities feeding Obama-era “catch and release” practices have exploded past maximum capacity holding 19,000 people in a space overwhelmed by 6,000. Read more…

The government set another grim record in May with more than 55,000 children nabbed by Border Patrol agents along the southwest border.

They were part of more than 130,000 unauthorized migrants Border Patrol agents and officers at the ports of entry encountered last month, up from about 109,000 in April and far higher than the 51,000 or so nabbed in May 2018.
But even record overall numbers shield the true expanse of the crisis, officials said.

As much as 60 percent of agents’ time is now spent babysitting illegal immigrants rather than patrolling the border, and they’re setting records for making rescues of migrants in distress. Meanwhile border detention facilities are packed, with more than 19,000 people in space that is already in crisis when it reaches 6,000.

DHS: 1 Percent of Guatemalans Have Entered the U.S.

New Department of Homeland Security numbers reveal that 1 percent of the entire population of Guatemala and Honduras have entered the United States just since September 2019. The Daily Wire has repeatedly covered the ongoing migrant influx crisis at our beleaguered southern border. U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s (CBP) March crossing/apprehension numbers were record-shattering, and CBP Deputy Commissioner Robert E. Perez referred to the onslaught as a “system-wide emergency”:

“We are currently experiencing a system-wide emergency in our processing and holding facilities. The humanitarian crisis created by a massive influx of family groups and unaccompanied children in recent months has forced CBP to reallocate resources away from law enforcement, trade and travel missions to process and provide care for those in our custody,” said CBP Deputy Commissioner Robert E. Perez. “The impacts to legitimate trade and travel cannot be overstated. As this crisis continues to worsen, it undermines CBP’s ability to perform its dual mission of protecting our borders and facilitating legitimate trade and travel.”

The Silent Crisis in America

Amid the battles in Washington, DC, around the country and at our borders, one crisis has until recent months flown far under the American radar. The opioid crisis has crashed onto the cultural scene as rampant addictions to fentanyl and other opiates, which have claimed the lives and livelihood of tens of thousands of Americans, have skyrocketed.

Among those ruined lives are stories of innocent victims who have fallen prey to an epidemic of addiction and abuse of prescription drugs resulting from routine pain management prescribed by medical professionals. This epidemic has spawned a new black market of illegal opioids crossing our borders at a rate and in quantities that rival illegal narcotics.

Tyler Borstein was one such victim. Recognized as a gifted athlete from an early age, Tyler excelled at every sport he played. But when an injury forced him to seek medical attention, pain management was naturally a part of the process of recuperation. Tyler was prescribed opiates to mitigate the pain which quickly led to an addiction that outpaced his doctors’ legal limits to prescribe. That addiction led to heroine and ultimately to an overdose which took his took at the age of 23.

Tyler’s story is tragic and one that is all too familiar to families and communities across the country. It is a tragedy that led Tyler’s family to establish Hope United a organization created to raise awareness to students, parents and communities about the scourge of drug and alcohol abuse. Hope has reached thousands of students in the US and continues an aggressive campaign to raise awareness across the country to stop the tragedy of addiction in its tracks.

NPR: “Busloads” of Migrants Arrive at U.S.-Mexico Border

Nancy Pelosi and the Left are determined to deny the very real humanitarian crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border to thwart the border security declaration by President Trump. Now, however, that narrative is starting to slip, as even the NPR says that “busloads” of illegal immigrants/asylum seekers are arriving at the U.S.-Mexico border. As a result, illegal crossings have reached a 10-year capacity, while U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement are overwhelmed. According to a Border Patrol report, the number of illegal immigrants who have been snagged by the Border Patrol attempting to cross into the U.S. has surged 90 percent compared with this time last year. Here’s more from The Daily Wire…

While Democrats insist that there’s “no crisis at the border,” left-leaning NPR reports that illegal border crossings just hit a 10-year high and migrants are literally arriving by the “busload.”

“Since last year, Border Patrol agents say, they have routinely encountered large groups of a hundred or more migrants at the border, many of them arriving by bus from Guatemala,” NPR reports. “According to immigration authorities, the passengers consist almost entirely of families and children who are looking for Border Patrol agents to turn themselves in to. Agents say they’ve encountered 70 large groups since last year.”

The numbers are staggering: Over the last five months, the number of migrants attempting to cross the border picked up by Border Patrol has increased over 90% over the same period last year. U.S. Customs and Border Protection say they’ve picked up a stunning 260,000 people since October and 66,000 in February alone.

100,000 Illegals May Rush the Border This Month

According to a Washington Post report, some 100,000 detentions of illegal immigrants are anticipated this month, a 39 percent increase from this time last year. The Post also claims that the onslaught is causing Border Patrol to default to “catch-and-release.” U.S. court restrictions on the government’s ability to keep children in immigration jails-and the sheer volume of people arriving-have left Homeland Security agencies [on the border] defaulting increasingly to the overflow model Trump deplores as “catch-and-release.” Read more…

Violent criminal aliens, gang members, and drug smugglers continue to exploit gaps in border barriers in the Rio Grande Valley Sector to move into the U.S. from Mexico.

Agents assigned to the Rio Grande City Station patrolling near Roma, Texas, came upon a Salvadoran national who had just crossed the border illegally last week. The agents transported the man to the station where they conducted a biometric background investigation on the subject, according to information provided by Rio Grande Valley Sector Border Patrol officials.

The background investigation revealed the man to be a previously deported criminal alien who is a member of Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13). His record includes an extensive history in New York, where police arrested him for criminal possession of a weapon with intent to use and resisting arrest, officials stated.

NYT: Trump’s Border Security Reforms Working

Apparently, refusing to roll out the red carpet for illegal immigrants is working to deter them. According to a report by the New York Times, one-third of the 6,000 migrants forming the November caravan of “asylum” seekers decided to go back to Central America. “Data from Mexican officials suggested that harsh policies he [Trump] has introduced to crack down on asylum seekers may already be achieving some of its intended effects,” reports the Times. In that same article, the typically anti-Trump paper also admits that aspiring illegal immigrants joining the caravan are not fleeing persecution or gang violence but seeking economic opportunities in the U.S., a distinction that disqualifies them from asylum. A New York Times‘ article on the migrant caravans shows President Donald Trump’s border security reforms are successfully curbing the northward flow of migrants.

One-third of the 6,000 migrants who reached the border just in the November caravan have given up their effort to cross the border, the Times says: “Data from Mexican officials suggested that harsh policies he has introduced to crack down on asylum seekers may already be achieving some of its intended effects.”

The article by the establishment outlet is important because it validates Trump’s analysis and proposed fixes for the growing problem of cheap-labor migration. For example, the article shows that Trump’s critics admit his policies are working: “It may look like it’s working in the short term,” Ms. [Michelle] Brané said, “But I don’t think it’s a long-term solution. It’s driving people further into the shadows and that’s exactly the opposite of what we [pro-migation groups] want.”

Bipartisan Standing Ovation on House Floor for Victims of Illegal Alien Crime

In one of the most optimistic signs for ending the border security stalemate between the White House and the Democrat-led House of Representatives, lawmakers on both sides of the aisle were moved to give victims of illegal alien crimes a standing ovation on the chamber floor. The symbolic gesture happened on Wednesday as House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy read out 50 names of Americans, many of them policemen, killed by illegal immigrants as evidence of why the “status quo” keeping open borders must end. Quoth McCarthy: There have been 266,000 criminal aliens arrested in the last two years. This includes charges or convictions of 100,000 assaults, nearly 30,000 sex crimes, and 4,000 violent killings. Three hundred Americans die every week from heroin. And more than 90 percent of heroin comes across the Southern border. And roughly 10,000 children are being smuggled into the U.S. every year to be sold for human trafficking. Read more…

The U.S. House of Representatives on Wednesday gave victims of illegal alien crimes a bipartisan standing ovation on the floor of the chamber as House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy read out the names of Americans killed by illegal aliens in a lengthy speech.

McCarthy began his speech bashing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s strategy on the government funding battle that has protected the “status quo” on immigration, a system that has led to serious consequences for American citizen victims of illegal immigration.

McCarthy said on the House floor:

At a time when the country expects its leaders in Washington to look forward, this House majority is looking backward. When our country expects solutions, they are using this chamber to settle political scores. As hundreds of thousands of Americans painfully experienced, portions of our federal government were shut down for 35 days. A shameful record under this majority’s watch.
