Gosnell Filmmaker Meets $2.1M Crowd-Funding Goal

gosnell

Phelim McAleer conceded that he did not expect his crowdfunding effort for a “classic American TV crime drama” about heinous abortionist Kermit Gosnell to reach its $2.1 million goal.

As of Saturday, though, the movie has raised over $2.1 million dollars from over 24,000 contributors, proving not only the power of new media but the demand for movies and projects that the mainstream media would prefer not to tell or showcase.

Now that he has met his benchmark, McAleer is hoping to get 30,000 backers before the campaign ends in three days. He has vowed not to let his supporters down in telling a story that is full of heroes, mystery, and plenty of villains and corrupt politicians.

Biden Takes Shot At Clintons in South Carolina

Joe Biden, Jill Biden, Hillary Rodham Clinton, Bill Clinton

CNN reports that Vice President Joe Biden, apparently unwilling to concede the 2016 Democratic presidential nomination to Hillary Clinton, told South Carolina Democrats that the latter years of the Bill Clinton administration were responsible for the beginning of the decline in middle-class financial security.

Attendees at the VIP Capital City Club in Columbia, S.C. asserted that Biden’s speech was largely “populist’ and intense. One listener called the speech an “Elizabeth Warren-type speech” because it targeted income inequality.

Columnist: Black Republicans Are A ‘Lower’ Group

black

Bloomberg writer Francis Wilkinson recently wrote a piece claiming that Republican Senator Tim Scott of South Carolina–an African American–only became a senator because Republicans “lowered the bar” for his appointment. He also claimed that Scott’s candidacy serves as a “shield” for racist Tea Party members to hide behind.

In an article that is more invective than analysis, Wilkinson essentially called Senator Scott a do-nothing senator. He said Scott acted like a “shield” for racist, Confederate flag-waving Tea Party members who need someone to replace Herman Cain as the favorite candidate behind whom they can hide their racism.

Break: Rand Paul Denounces Voter ID Laws, Offensive to Blacks

Senator Paul of Kentucky gestures at the Conservative Political Action Conference at National Harbor, Maryland

MEMPHIS — Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky broke Friday with fellow Republicans who have pushed for stricter voting laws as a way to crack down on fraud at the polls, saying that the focus on such measures alienates and insults African-Americans and hurts the party.

“Everybody’s gone completely crazy on this voter ID thing,” Mr. Paul said in an interview. “I think it’s wrong for Republicans to go too crazy on this issue because it’s offending people.”

Carney: Benghazi Committee Blatantly Political and Partisan

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney criticized the new select committee formed to investigate the Benghazi attacks, calling it a “blatantly political and partisan effort.”

House Speaker John Boehner announced the panel Friday afternoon following the House of Representatives vote, which included seven Democrats.

“House Republicans, in what is a blatantly political and partisan effort, voted to start another investigation into this matter, presumably because the six previous investigations by Congress, by Republicans, were somehow not adequate,” Jay Carney said on MSNBC Friday afternoon.

RNC Officially Backs Banning Abortion After 20 Weeks

RNC Chairman Priebus Discusses Republican Party Strategy In Washington

Continuing the bold pro-life direction of the party committee under chairman Reince Priebus, the Republican National Committee adopted a resolution Friday supporting legislation to ban abortion after 20 weeks of pregnancy.

The RNC resolution comes ahead of Tuesday’s one year anniversary of Philadelphia abortionist Kermit Gosnell’s murder conviction — which pro-life activists say prompted a series of 20-week abortion bans at the state level.

“The Republican Party is proudly pro-life and this resolution shows our support for this straightforward, simple pro-life initiative,” resolution sponsor RNC Committeewoman Ellen Barrosse of Delaware said in a statement Friday.
