Schumer Votes Against Nominee Because He’s White

We’re certain you’ve heard: Democrats are the party of the little man, the oppressed, minorities, equal rights, justice, yada yada.

So of course that means they totally believe in judging folks “by the content of their character” not by “the color of their skin.”

[pause for involuntary chuckle]

So that’s why we were absolutely shocked to learn Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer declared this week he’d not vote for one of President Trump’s nominees because he’s white.

Yes, apparently the president doesn’t have enough melanin in his administration, and Schumer isn’t gonna take it anymore.

Marvin Quattlebaum is a fairly accomplished attorney and qualified for the bench.

But his lack of diversity trumps his legal expertise.

Thankfully, the non-stupid members of the Senate confirmed him over Schumer’s objection.

Here’s more from Redstate…

“The nomination of Marvin Quattlebaum speaks to the overall lack of diversity in President Trump’s selections for the federal judiciary,” Schumer said. “Quattlebaum replaces not one, but two scuttled Obama nominees who were African American.”

“As of February 14th, 83 percent of the President Trump’s confirmed nominees were male, 92 percent were white. That represents the lowest share of non-white candidates in three decades,” he continued. “It’s long past time that the judiciary starts looking a lot more like the America it represents. Having a diversity of views and experiences on the federal bench is necessary for the equal administration of justice.”

“I’ll be voting no on the Quattlebaum nomination,” Schumer said.
